There are a couple of different ways you can get into a Park “early”, and Early Morning Magic and Extra Magic Hours (2 very similarly named events) are two of those ways. So what’s the difference between them.
But, what’s the difference between the two?
Extra Magic Hours
Who Can Attend Extra Magic Hours?
Anybody staying onsite at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel, guests of the Swan and Dolphin hotels, guest of Shades of Green, PLUS the following Disney Springs area resorts:
- B Resort
- Best Western Lake Buena Vista Resort
- DoubleTree Guest Suites
- Hilton Orlando Buena Vista Palace
- Hilton Orlando Lake Buena Vista
- Holiday Inn Lake Buena Vista
- Wyndham Garden Lake Buena Vista
The Cost
No extra cost outside of your regular park ticket.
Extra Magic Hour Crowds?
The earlier the start of the Extra Magic Hour the better the crowds, however, we generally don’t recommend Extra Magic Hours as they typically tend to draw higher crowds than non-Extra Magic Hour Days.
When is Extra Magic Hours offered?
You’ll find at least 1 day/week with a morning Extra Magic Hour
What Attractions are Open?
That depends on the park offering the Early Magic Hours, but typically the most popular land within each park is available.
For a list of specific rides that will be available during Early Magic Hours, check our detailed article on Extra Magic Hours at Walt Disney World
Early Morning Magic
Who Can Attend?
Early Morning Magic is a specially ticketed event which means that only guests that have purchased a ticket (separate from their park ticket) are allowed entry.
The Cost
$79/adult, $69/child in addition to the cost of your regular theme park ticket. The cost includes unlimited rides on the available attractions plus a buffet breakfast.
Early Morning Magic Crowds?
Since this is a special ticketed event the crowds are significantly smaller
When is Early Morning Magic offered?
This depends on the specific park you plan on visiting, but typically Hollywood Studios offers Early Morning Magic on Mondays and Wednesdays, and the Magic Kingdom is available on Sundays and Tuesdays.
What Attractions are Open?
Unlike Extra Magic Hours where you’ll find lots of things open, Early Morning Magic only has a selection of rides within the popular Park Land.
