Chances are if you are reading this, you are heading on a Disney World trip very soon! So exciting!! If you are new to the Walt Disney World Experience you may have heard of the FastPass+ system and are curious about how you can utilize this service for you and your family!

This page accompanies our What to FastPass+ at Walt Disney World Theme Parks

FastPass+ is a free service offered by Disney which allows you to schedule what time you will access each ride. This is them offering us a helping hand to those long times that will inevitably form at the most magical place on earth! The Fastpass+ system is tied to your Magic Band (free to onsite guests) and My Disney Experience app; find out more about that at Understanding Walt Disney World’s MyMagic+

Walt Disney World will allow you to make up to 3 FastPass+ selections 60 days from the start of your trip if you are staying at a Disney resort. If you are staying off-site, you can begin scheduling your Fast Passes 30 days from your date of travel. If you are traveling sooner than 30 days out, not to worry, you can still schedule attractions, however, some of the more popular selections may be full.

So what can be Fast Passed?

The most popular rides, shows, and character appearances can be reserved through Disney’s Fast Pass +. Disney groups ride into categories called Tiers, and will only allow you to schedule one ride within that Tier for the allotted three selections. For example, if you want to FastPass+ Frozen Ever After at Epcot, you won’t be able to FastPass IllumiNations, Soarin’, or Test Track within your first 3 selections, because they are all part of the Tier 1 category. However, after you have completed the first three selections of your FastPass+, you can visit an in-park kiosk or access the selections via the My Experience App and schedule more Fastpasses, one at a time.

If you are wanting to know exactly what to reserve based on the popularity of the rides and waiting times, we have created a helpful list of the most popular Walt Disney World rides to FastPass+.

After you have downloaded the My Disney Experience – Disney World app and have linked your reservation and your tickets, you can begin making FastPass+ reservations.

If you go to make these selections and find they are completely booked for the day, our suggestion is getting to the park right at rope drop and getting in line for these first! If that doesn’t work, plan on staying in the park later and getting in line just before closing.

How far in advance do you plan your Disney World trips and how do you plan on using your FastPasses?
